Snow would have made things worse....

18th March 2018

Sometimes you just have to count your blessings and be thankful as things could have been much worse.

That's how I feel about the weather and conditions which the riders completed this year's 2-day Trials meeting in. Saturday saw many sections with nearly zero clears due to especially slippery mud after overnight rain.

I spoke to several 'old-timers' who reckoned that in some sections the surface was about as bad as they could remember!

The coastal sections on day two did offer more grip... but that wind was bitterly cold making it very unpleasant for Observers on the most exposed sections.

However the bonus was that the threatened snow never arrived!

In the end I think that there was a sense of relief that things went so well! It could have been much worse!!

Now that I've thawed out I've added a gallery featuring action from both days....
