When the Sahara Desert came to Guernsey.....
12th April 2026

Like everyone who spent time at the GK&MC 2-Day Motocross meeting I left the event covered in dust. In fact I looked like I'd been in a Saharan desert sand storm!
Whilst I was at the track on Saturday morning the strong wind was lifting clouds of dust off the surface even between races!
This eventually resulted in the B Group Class, which had the biggest entry, having a race re-started with riders in-line after a dramatic crash occurred at the first start.
Anyon Robilliard had a spectacular try at flying after launching off a bank. When he landed and rolled onto the track the poor visibility from the dust meant the following riders couldn't see to take avoiding action!
Overall there was a really good entry and a large crowd was entertained to some great racing.
I had to pack all my coverage into just a couple of hours as I had a list of other events but I ended up with a nice full Gallery of photos.
