03rd February 2026

Photos are online of the clash between Guernsey FC and Steyning Town at Victoria Park.

This was an important game for both teams as they were positioned in second and third place in the Southern Combination League.

The game didn't disappoint as it was packed with drama and action with the final result going to Guernsey FC with their 3-2 win!

Well done guys, you fought for every ball and fully deserved the significant result.

The youngsters were hard to beat.....
01st February 2026

If I'm being honest, I wasn't particularly motivated last Friday when I headed to Victoria Park on the damp, rainy evening.

I was booked to photograph another Stranger Cup game and as I've covered many this season, this fact also dampened my own spirits.

However, I have to confess, the contest between the Guernsey Under 18's and Rovers soon made the effort of wrapping up in my waterproofs worth my while as the action on the pitch was terrific.

Rovers took a hard earned 4-3 win over the battling youngsters who came so close to getting the result.

It was a memorable night and a reminder that it's worth making an effort sometimes.

I've uploaded a new gallery featuring my photos:

Green is the winning colour....
28th January 2026

This was my first visit of the year to photograph the Guernsey Netball Winter League at Les Varendes High School. The top-of-the-table clash was between Resolution IT Green v Specsavers Lightning Strike and it was the Greens who walked away with a decisive win.

I've added a new gallery featuring my shots. Click this link if you are interested:

The Lionesses are building for the future.....
26th January 2026

Photos are now online of the GFC Women 'Green Lionesses' v Bournemouth Sports Reserves playing in the Southern Region Women's League Division One South at Victoria Park.

The Lionesses were challenged by the well organised visitors who edged the result with their 2-3 win.

But that result hides how well our local side is developing. Their skills and team performances progress with every new game. They are learning how to adapt to the tactics of their opposition.

With new faces appearing on the subs bench there is a real belief that the foundations are being built for the future.

Twenty minutes was too short .....
18th January 2026

Due to my assignments on Sunday being spread around our (admittedly small) Island my time at Victoria Park was rather short and sweet!

I ended up dashing back across the slippery causeway from Lihou Island, after covering the volunteers helping to repair and tidy up the storm damage, to then cross Guernsey to Victoria Park. A journey not helped whilst following the many road closures and detours that remain from storm felled trees.

So by the time I arrived at the game between the Guernsey Lionesses and Bemerton Heath Harlequins the second half had already begun. As I needed to submit my earlier photos ASAP I allowed just twenty minutes to grab a few photos and the 1-1 score told me that I'd missed a tight first half.

Sure enough, that was how the game progressed. I had few chances to get great action photos and when I left, with the score still at 1-1, I thought that was going to be it.

But, sadly, I found out later the the Lionesses conceded a goal in the last minute of play! It's not over till the ref blows his final whistle!

My quick edit of photos is now online here:

GFC prove that they have the fight to pull back....
17th January 2026

The Guernsey FC squad proved they they have the fight, strength, desire and depth of talent on the bench to turn around a game that was drifting away from them on Saturday at Victoria Park.

After taking an early lead against Lingfield FC our local boys seemed to loose their momentum and direction allowing the visitors to equalise and then take the lead.

However some smart substitutions resulted in a new urgency and change of play bringing the reward of a deserved 4-2 win at the final whistle.

Perhaps it is games like this, when GFC can rescue a result, that show there is growing strength and ability available to build on.

Ultimately it was an enjoyable afternoon to be a fan!

This game deserved better support from the fans.....
12th January 2026

It was a dark and chilly night down at Victoria Park for the Stranger Cup group game between St Martins and North.

Whether it was the fact that it was a night game or the cold or maybe because it was a Saturday night the number of supporters was very low.

However, for those that made the effort, the game was really entertaining. Both sides enjoyed their moment in the lead but ultimately it was St Martins who managed to hit the back of the net with a late goal giving them a 4-3 win.

GFC show grit and determination to win......
11th January 2026

GFC produced a solid performance on Saturday against Eastbourne FC at Victoria Park.

Our local boys were facing a visiting side that was on a run of good form.

For Guernsey FC these are the games that can make or break a season and it was great to see their determination and willingness to dig deep, soak up the pressure and maintain momentum.

The reward for all their efforts came when the final whistle blew with a deserved 3-0 win on the board!

I captured lots of the action and I've uploaded a new Gallery of photos. Click this link if you want to take a look:

We celebrate Guernsey's finest Sporting performances......
11th January 2026

The 2025 Guernsey Sports Commission 'Sporting Achievement Awards' were held in the David Ferguson Hall, Beau Sejour.

This annual event showcases the very best Guernsey Sportsmen and Sportswomen together with categories for Team Sports and of course the Coaches, Volunteers and Organisers who make everything happen.

Our Island, once again, showed how we 'punch well above our size' with many of the local Sports featuring highly on the Channel Island, National and International stage.

Congratulations to all the nominees and the winners of each category.

Sport politely fought with a smile......
10th January 2026

Variety keeps me interested in my work.

Saturday started with a Sport that I rarely photograph. It's not really action packed but that means a photographer has to work a bit harder.

But when the competition is an Inter-insular then there is always an added interest.

I was photographing the Guernsey v Jersey Indoor Bowls CI Finals at the Hougue du Pommier Centre where both Island teams fought hard for the wins.... but perfectly politely and with friendship and smiles!

Rugby it wasn't!!

A gallery of my photos is now online. Click this link if you want to see the 'action'!

The Guernsey Basketball Under 21's build on strong foundations...
08th January 2026

The Guernsey Basketball Under 21's team continues to gain experience whilst they play in the Cornerstone Basketball League.

I photographed their latest outing against Gravity at Beau Sejour last night.

Whilst the youngsters never looked on for a win their commitment and team spirit is laying the foundations for the development of their game.

More pics of the Stranger Cup....
06th January 2026

I returned for the third day in a row to Victoria on Sunday afternoon.

This time it was to photograph another Strangers Cup game.

The clash was between Bels and Rovers and it was the Rovers who deserved the win.

I'm not expecting to return to Victoria Park until Saturday... but I can never be sure!

An important win for Guernsey FC.....
05th January 2026

Guernsey FC earned themselves an important win in the Southern Combination Premier Division at Victoria Park on Saturday.

The visiting side from AFC Varndeanians were placed near the bottom of the league but these are the games that can trip up GFC as they chase the chance to feature in the end of season play-offs.

So whilst this wasn't GFC's best performance they did manage a win and that qualifies as another job well done.

I've added a gallery of my photos to the website. Click the link to view them:

Photographing darts brings its own challenges....
04th January 2026

With a big entry for the first event in the 2026 Guernsey Series of Darts I think this is going to be an interesting one to follow.

The Series kicked off at the Ex Serviceman's Club on Saturday and I just managed to pop along after photographing the GFC v Varndeanians game at Victoria Park.

I hope to cover more of this Series as it makes a change and a different challenge when compared to the 'usual' Sports I photograph.

Finding angles where I'm not distracting players and working in very low light top the list of challenges. On this occasion the light level was very low... much darker than you would think when viewing the photos.

Here's the link to the Darts gallery:

It was a bitterly cold night at Victoria Park....
03rd January 2026

It was definitely a night for the thermals on Friday at Victoria Park.

I'd been sent along to photograph the Stranger Cup game between Sylvans and Saints. I was very tempted to join the teams on the pitch as running around might have kept my feet warm!

Well I did have my football boots on so maybe I'd of gone un-noticed?

Thankfully my cameras were untroubled by the chill and I managed to capture some of the action!

Blowing the festive cobwebs away.......
26th December 2025

That was the perfect way to blow away the cobwebs after the usual excesses of the festive season.

You can't beat a chilly wind coming straight from the sea at L'Ancresse Bay to do the job well!

There was a great turn-out of runners for the 2025 Guernsey Athletics Boxing Day Cross Country.

At the start, as I looked around to see who was putting on their running shoes I got an impression that some people had avoided a second helping of mince pies and sherry... in reverence to the sport and their performance!

And then there were the casual athletes who where on the common as a penance for all the wrong doing of the day before!

Either way I'm sure that all finishers enjoyed completing the challenge!

I've added a gallery of a few Cross Country pics. Click the link to view them:

Back to Priaulx League football....
14th December 2025

I've not photographed a Guernsey Priaulx League football game for a while. My time has been allocated to the GFC games at Victoria Park.

So it was nice to have a chance to capture the action at Blanche Pierre Lane as Saints hosted the current league leaders North.

Sadly I wasn't entertained by a game where the two sides effectively cancelled out and neutralised each other leading to very few highlights.

But it wasn't all bad... it was a bright and dry day, so I can at least say that that part made my day.

The Green Lions dominate Little Common.....
09th December 2025

The men's Guernsey FC side pulled off a dominate performance against the visiting Little Common side at Victoria Park.

The final result of 4-1 for the Green Lions actually reversed the score the Lionesses finished at during the same weekend.

The local lads are really enjoying a good run of wins at the moment and the momentum is something supporters are loving.

Keep it up guys!

GFC Woman v Bursledon FC... not a great result
07th December 2025

There was disappointment in the stands at Victoria Park after the Guernsey FC Women struggled to find their rhythm when they faced the visitors from Bursledon.

The final score was 1-4 and that was probably a fair reflection of the play.

The GFC Women's side is giving some of the younger players in the squad some game time and as they build on their experience and develop their skills we can hope for our ladie's side to make a come-back.

I photographed the game and the photos are now online. Click the link to view the Gallery:

It was as soggy as it could get.....
22nd November 2025

Photos of Guernsey FC v Roffey on a VERY wet afternoon at Victoria Park are now online.

This was the wettest and most uncomfortable game at Victoria Park so far.

There is no doubt that the new ground and all-weather pitch saved the day and the game!

Guernsey FC are now playing in the Southern Combination Premier Division and looking at the videos of their away games our local side have some of the best facilities in the division.

Oh, and I almost forgot the result against Roffey.... 8-0 for GFC!

Isn't it amazing how we soon forgot about the rain!
