New search facility added to the Web Site...
15th January 2011

With the ever increasing size of the Picture Galleries (they already hold over 13,000 images) I have added another new feature that you might find useful.

You can now search the whole Web Site using the SEARCH PAGE. Use this to narrow down the selection of pictures to those that are of interest to you. The search uses the picture title and any information that I have added. It will quickly select the pictures that match your request... However this facility is not perfect or guaranteed to find every relevant picture, sorry!

You can always use a 'manual' search. This should also enable you to find pictures that interest you very quickly. If you spend a few moments clicking through the various Galleries you should soon understand the layout and logic behind the Gallery structure.
VIEW THE GALLERIES HERE

To use the NEW SEARCH PAGE try searching by type of event (e.g. Autocross) by a place (e.g. Alderney) or Band (e.g. Teaspoonriverneck).

14th January 2011

As part of the continuing development of this NEW WEB SITE which will eventually replace my old one I have made improvements to the NEWS & BLOG Page. It now includes a picture with each update which is a 'live' link to the relevant Gallery. This should make finding the latest updates easier.
All important updates to this Web Site will be reported on the NEWS/BLOG page so make it a regular visit and you won't miss a thing!
The old web site still has all the old Archive of Motor Sport, Sport, Gig & Bands pics and can be viewed here:

Sorted! The last of the ROCK of AGES-7 picture galleries are now online...
13th January 2011

The updating of fourteen galleries featuring the bands that played at Rock of Ages-7 is complete. The final bands to be added include one of my favourites on the Guernsey scene - Last of the Light Brigade. This band played on two stages at Jersey Live 2010. The Main Stage and again on the more intimate Wild West Tease Stage. They just get better every time I see them. JERSEY LIVE 2010
Another of the Galleries features Anders' Riddle who really suprised me at RoA-7. They are so young - but play classics from the record collection of this 55 year old photographer - and really well! They must have raided their parents (or Grandparents!) record collection for inspiration.
The final two bands are Dealer's Left & Breaking the Silence.
That was some marathon update! Hope you like the pics.
Please e-mail me with your comments ... and don't forget you can buy prints and digital files. All pics are copyrighted and are NOT FREE for you to copy. Digital files just cost 'beer money'! Click 'BUY NOW' below each picture to add it to your shopping basket.

Please support your local photog. Cheers.
FINAL ROCK OF AGES-7 GALLERY UPDATES
More Bands added to the Rock of Ages-7 picture Gallery...
11th January 2011

Rock of Ages-7 has set-up the live music scene in Guernsey for 2011.
Mark Guillou is not afraid of the amount of work that goes into putting on Rock of Ages - two nights of live music with great sound and lighting... an event that showcased FOURTEEN acts! If you are a 'Friend of Rock of Ages' you got ten hours of live music for £8, unbelievable!
I enjoyed seeing seven new acts, mostly young musicians, and was well impressed with them all. The Guernsey live music scene is alive and kicking.
I have now added the following Bands to the Gallery - Wax Off, Dead Wing & Fate. Check-out the pictures here ROCK OF AGES-7
2011 has started with two nights of live Music featuring FOURTEEN Bands!
09th January 2011

Only Mark Guillou could come up with such a huge task... and pull it off to near perfection! Rock of Ages-7 has set the standard for 2011 and it will take some beating.
OK, I'm still on the 'high' having enjoyed about ten hours of live music & FOURTEEN great bands playing at Rock of Ages-7. The size of this event is ambitious to say the least - particularly as Mark has such a small 'band' of willing helpers. But it was a fantastic showcase with a great mix of Bands.
Mark is the biggest supporter of new young bands and had seven in the line-up that I hadn't seen before. They were all well worth the chance of playing on a stage that spoilt them with quality sound and superb lighting. The 'pub' gigs that will undoubtably be in the future for many of these young Bands will never reach the heights of such a great set-up!
I could go on... but I have FOURTEEN Bands to add to the Galleries.
The first updates are for Urban Wendy, She Haunts the Road, Brutus Stonefist, United Snakes & Feedback. Take a look here ROCK OF AGES-7

Rock of Ages Gallery updates...
27th December 2010
.
With Rock of Ages-7 just around the corner I thought I would move a few more picture Galleries over to this new web site. Mark Guillou puts on a fantastic show (literally when it comes to the lighting!) for his Rock of Ages gigs. Mark has given many Guernsey bands their 'first break' and sets a standard for all others to follow with great sound and lighting.
I have updated the Gallery for Rock of Ages-1. Take a look here ROCK OF AGES-1.
Picture Gallery updates have been made for Teaspoonriverneck, Stratosphere, Pete Frampton & Friends, Brutus Stonefist, Elysium and Wasted on the Way.
Thee Jenerators
21st December 2010

You don't have to wait long or look far to find Guernseys two most prolific Musicians... and when they come along in the same Band you know you are in for a treat.
I'm talking about Thee Jenerators, Mark Le Gallez & Steve Lynch.
Add into the mix The Fermain Tavern and you have a night to remember. Take a look at the picture Gallery of their latest gig. THEE JENERATORS LATEST GIG
6 Day Riot pictures from Folkal Point at the Fermain Tavern...
18th December 2010

Just a few updates today. I have added a new Gallery displaying pictures of the London based Folk-Pop Quintet 6 Day Riot. These pics were taken at The Fermain Tavern during a recent Folkal Point evening held to raise funds for next years Sark Folk Festival. I really enjoyed this band... although I nearly missed them completely! Don't the 'folk music' guys finish early. All done by 10.45pm! Check-out the Gallery here 6 DAY RIOT AT THE FERMAIN TAVERN
Why have the updates slowed down?
13th December 2010

OK, so now the excuses! Christmas, in one word! I have to thank all you guys and girls for all the orders of Prints, Montages, Digital Files and Canvases. The preparation and production of these orders has taken a great deal of time... I know, I spend too much optimising each print!
TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF THE NEW MONTAGES
There is another excuse as well! I currently have a 'broken' main PC. Windows 7 has thrown a huge tantrum and refuses to boot up after crashing. I have spent several days trying to rebuild Win7 using DOS as the built-in restore didn't work. I am now resigned to a reinstallation with all the activation problems with Photoshop and all my other programs... there is no shortcut.
If I can offer one bit of advice - thankfully I take my own advice - BACKUP YOUR FILES - I have backups of backups of backups...
UPDATE: It looks like I have the Computer fully restored from backups. What a HUGE hassle but I don't think I have lost a thing!! Pictures, e-mails, programs, settings, the lot have all been restored from back-ups
The Galleries have had more updates...
21st November 2010

Todays updates from the Archives include some Motor Sport and Gig pictures. The first of many Sand Racing Galleries has been added with the Sand Ace meeting of 2010 being the first.
Take a look here SAND ACE 2010 GALLERY.
The other major update has been to the Bands & Gigs Gallery (Bands A-E). This Gallery now features Abandon Ship, About an Hour, Alabama 3, Andy C, Biffy Clyro, Asylum Seekas, Basement Jaxx, Benny the Moth & Big Machine. Bands have appeared at Jersey Live, Guernsey Live, Rock of Ages, Vale Earth Fair, Greenman Chaos & Ivy Castle Earth Fair. Only about 250 more bands to go.

Lots of updates today in the BANDS Galleries...
20th November 2010

The size of the task of bringing all the archive of pics over to this new Web Site is beginning to sink in... there are so many pics! So it will be a while, but as more Galleries are being added I am getting a feel for how it will look. Today I have added some more gig pictures. I will add a link for each band in the Alphabetic Galleries and then link from there to other Galleries where they appear. Take a look here for the latest updates: BAND GALLERIES A-E
The Risk played at the refurbished Fermain Tavern last Friday
12th November 2010

Last weekend was a busy one for me. With two evenings of ROCK of AGES bands playing at the Carlton Hotel there wasn't much time for anything else. However I did manage to get along to hear The Risk play at the Fermain Tavern on Friday night. They don't play that often nowadays so you mustn't miss a chance to see them. They didn't disappoint.
Of course, I took my camera along to take some pics! Having just left the Rock of Ages with its fantastic lighting rig The Fermain Tavern was a bit of a let-down I'm afraid. I have added a Gallery of pics CLICK HERE TO VIEW 'THE RISK' GALLERY
Rock of Ages... Saturdays Bands added to Gallery
11th November 2010

Pheww, sorted! With Mark Guillou putting on eight band over two nights during the latest Rock of Ages-6 it certainly makes for a few late nights just to catch up and sort through the pics. But, the job is done! Each of the bands now has their own Gallery of pics. Take a look at the latest updates showing '2 Minutes 2 Late', 'Dead Wing', 'Plan of Attack' & '9 Lives'... Rock of Ages-6 ... First pics online
10th November 2010

Mark Guillou has just promoted the sixth ROCK of AGES and once again it was a great success. Mark always finds space for a couple of 'new bands on the block' who support the more established groups. I have added the first nights bands to the Music Festivals Gallery. They include 'Dealers Left', 'Feedback', 'Breaking the Silence' and 'Tantale. The Saturdays bands will follow. Gigs & Band Gallery updates
03rd November 2010

Just a few updates to the Gigs & Bands Gallery today. I will be adding all the Band pics that are in my archive to these Galleries so I am putting in place the folder structure to - hopefully - enable fairly quick access though the large selection of pics. Bands will be listed in alphabetic folders. Recent additions include the latest gig at the Fermain Tavern. A Halloween theme was always going to make interesting pics - check the Brutus Stonefist & Thousand Choking Corpses Gallery.
I have also added the first of the FalenizzaHorse Power pics. Loads to come... SOME OF THE LATEST UPDATES
