With over 2,000 photos it's going to be a mega edit.....
04th March 2025
With the tyre smoke and dust just settling after a very successful 2025 LBG Guernsey Rally I hope the organisers allow themselves a moment to enjoy the huge amount of compliments voiced by so many Islanders, Competitors and visitors in praise of the job they did.
I enjoyed photographing as much action as possible and ended up taking over 2,000 photos! So the edit will be a long one but the first batch of photos are now online if you are interested.

The Trial bikes hit the trail... and the beach!
21st January 2025
The Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Club Trials season is well underway and I managed to pop along on Sunday afternoon.
I visited two of the venues which resulted in a nice variety of shots.
Several sections had been set up at the St Germain site. The other sections were at the northern end of Vazon Bay. I think there was general agreement that the beach sections over the loose boulders took no prisoners!
But I was happy to capture a Gallery of photos that illustrated the variety of challenges.

Welcome to my 'happy place'......
13th January 2025
A few hours spent in January under the sun on a Guernsey beach would be a box to tick for many of us.
But maybe quite a few of those ticks would be erased when people find out that they would be sharing the sands with a bunch loud Banger racers!
However there are the mad ones, like me, who think that there are few better reasons to pop down to Chouet than to photograph the Autocross racing. This is why I was on the sands on Sunday.
So after my 'happy time' on the beach it was back to the office to edit and upload a few pics to the website. Click the link if you want to see how much fun it can be:

It's fun updating the Galleries on my NEW WEBSITE......
09th January 2025
I've managed to find some time over the holiday period to update and add new Galleries to the NEW WEBSITE.
It's a near impossible job for me to bring all my photos over to the new website as there are many hundreds of Galleries and hundreds of thousands of photos.
But I'm keen to give the new website a fair representation of my photographic work over the decades so when I find a few spare hours I'll continue with this chore!
So, at the moment, if you are looking for photos of a particular event or personalities you might have to use the search option on BOTH sites! But remember that ALL NEW photos from 2023 onwards are only added to the new site. Good luck and happy hunting!
Here are links to each of the websites. Happy hunting.

Sexy Pigeons are on a winning streak......
27th November 2024
The standard of performances just gets better and better with each year's Guernsey School of Popular Music 'Battle of the Under 18's Bands'.
The SoPM Tutors have perfected the process of organizing their biggest weekend of the year.
Over the years the weekend has grown to feature three separate events.
First up it's the 'Battle of the Under 18's Bands' which features five talented bands.
The winners in 2024 were The Sexy Mosquitos. Photos of the winners and all the other bands, The Fourth, Polystyrene Pigeons, Cheezy Beanz and Aviation are featured in these Galleries....

Bike Trials takes to the clifftops........
04th November 2024
Thank goodness for the Guernsey cliffs!
Without the clifftops some Guernsey Motorsport would find it difficult to function. The cliffs offer areas away from the main population enabling the events to take place without disturbing too many people.
Motocross is well established with its custom designed track. But there is another class of Motor Bike competition that also benefits and I was out on Sunday photographing this slower but very technical form of Motorsport.
I was at the latest Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Club Bike Trials meeting and my photos are now online if you are interested. Click the link to view them:

Autocross racing.... still the best bang per buck!
04th November 2024
The Autocross racing at Chouet continues to attract the crowds as entertainment is guaranteed.
Sadly the number of entries have dropped at the moment but this will happen when any Club has such a long history.
I'm sure the 'cycle' will swing back with a return to larger grids as this form of Motorsport offers more 'bang per buck' than any other format.
I was busy on the beach before having to pop off to cover the bike trials event. My photos are online here:

Sunny and colourful.... just like a photographer loves!
26th October 2024
I was one of many people enjoying a lovely autumn day on the Guernsey cliffs on Saturday.
You'll note that I didn't say it was a lovely 'peaceful' day out!
This is hardly surprising as I was up at the Motocross track for the latest GK&MC MX Championship round.
The greatest benefit of the sunny day was the great light. Just what a photographer loves as it creates nice and colourful images.

Man and camera against the elements? Not if I can help it!
11th October 2024
Trials bike riding is all about 'man and machine against the elements'.... although I need to include the ladies too as we regularly see them competing at the local Trials meetings alongside the men!
The first GMC&CC Trials meeting of the autumn certainly included the 'elements' side of my comment as it was very wet and slippery.
This is where I have to be honest in saying that I kept my time out on the treacherous Sections to a minimum as I don't think the phrase 'man and camera against the elements' has the same ring to it!
But I did capture a few photos. They are now online here:

How odd.... Two dry hillclimbs in a row!!
09th October 2024
Well, stranger things have happened - but not often!!
A dry day for the Petit Bot hillclimb is something of a rarity and for it to happen in the year that will be remembered for the amount of rainy events it makes it even more odd!!
But the racers patience was eventually rewarded at the end of the season with excellent results recorded at both the (dry) Imperial hill and Petit Bot.
My gallery of photos from Petit Bot and the Imperial can be viewed on my Galleries:

Lots of new records... including one of my own!!!!
02nd October 2024
For the first time this year the Hillclimbers had a dry event... well apart from a shower just as the day was starting!
But the Imperial hill tarmac was soon dry and the multitude of new records proved the racers weren't going to miss the opportunity!
It seems that I was also chasing a new record. I don't think I've ever taken so many photos at a hillclimb! Maybe it was sunstroke or the fact there were SEVEN runs!
I was going to delete a load of the photos but then I decided to spend a couple of days on the edit.... so there are now hundreds (around 800) of the Imperial hillclimb photos online.
Please consider how much time it takes for me to give this coverage. If you like a photo please don't just copy it, thanks.

Fifty-Five years old and still entertaining the crowds.....
22nd September 2024
Race 1 of the Guernsey Autocross Club's Winter Championship set the scene for what is to come.
There was a good size of entry for the first race of the season which led to some close racing.
It's great to see that as the Sport enters its 55th year it can still command a large crowd of spectators. I'm sure they are going to enjoy watching another entertaining and action packed season.
I've now uploaded my photos to a new Gallery. Click this link if you are interested:

First job after photographing the Motocross was having a shower......
21st September 2024
With the Moto-X track being bone dry it was always going to be a dusty race day!
But I think it turned out to be one of the dirtiest I can remember with rolling clouds of powdery dust billowing across the clifftops.
By chance and good fortune I parked my car up-wind but any of the marshals who parked down-wind would have found their vehicles heavily coated in dust after a full day of racing.
There's always a silver lining though, as the dust 'roosters' do make for interesting pics!
I've uploaded a full gallery of the action here:

It was worth the wait for a dry Hillclimb.....
26th August 2024
The GMC&CC Hillclimb started damply.... much like every previous visit to the 'Terres this year!
It's commonly thought that 2024 has been one of the wettest (worst) for Hillclimbing ever!
But this time the Motorsport Gods looked down kindly and they allowed the tarmac to dry as the day went on. So the racers were quick to enjoy the conditions and soon the records were dropping!

Forget about 'wets' - Wellies were needed.....
22nd July 2024
Following on from the Jersey Rounds of the 2024 British National Hillclimb Championship the roadshow arrived in Guernsey in optimistic form.
The racing in Jersey was close and the conditions certainly offered all competitors the chance to push themselves to their limits.
Sadly something happened to the weather machine in the couple of days waiting for the Guernsey Rounds!
Damp is certainly a word that describes most of the day... with Monsoon probably more apt for the way the day finished! Luckily the very worst of the rain held off until the last few minutes of racing.
I spent the whole day trying to find the best action shots and these Galleries display my work....

What an amazing week of non-stop photography....
21st July 2024
I seem to remember... back in the day, that a week was seven days long. But the last week somehow feels like it was way more!
It was nothing like a 'normal' week... and it was fantastic for that.
It started with photographing the Guernsey Athletics Deloitte Challenge.
This was followed by Round 1 of the GVC Downhill Racing Tour of Guernsey.
Then a switch to photographing royalty at the visit of King Charles III and Queen Camilla as part of the media entourage!
What next? How about popping over to Jersey for the BHC National Hillclimb... up close to the action! Those pics then needed editing for two National publications and the BHC.
Next, back to Guernsey for Rounds 17 & 18 of the Championship, complete with torrential rain at the end of the event and an edit for the Guernsey Press.
And then (surely there aren't that many days in a week) there was time to photograph Round 7 of the Adventure Cycles Tour of Guernsey!
I've not made a count of how many photos but it amounts to an edit of many hundreds and then the uploads (still a work in progress)!
So an amazing week but I'd definitely need a younger body (or lighter kit) to keep up with this pace if it was a normal schedule!!
If you are interested, my photos of Round 7 of the 2024 ToG are now online here:

Spectacular Motorsport action at Bouley Bay hill.....
19th July 2024
Once again the Jersey Rounds of the British National Hillclimb Championship produced some spectacular and close racing at Bouley Bay hill.
Near perfect conditions gave supporters and competitors nothing to complain about and as the show now moves to Guernsey for the next two Rounds of the Championship we all hope for a repeat... but some of the weather forecasts are suggesting rain might arrive in the afternoon!
Fingers crossed this is wrong.... but a few shots of single seater 'rain roosters' always look good!
I've now uploaded comprehensive Galleries of all the action in Jersey.
Please click the link to take a look and share this post to get the word out, thanks.
