Well I hope you like the final Gallery of pics featuring all the Bands who played at the latest Rock of Ages - this was number nine!
The event has grown in popularity, and with it the amount of work it takes for me to prepare the pictures for display. This latest batch of six Bands has taken two days (shooting & prep).
I really appreciate the comments and compliments that have been made and am happy to put the pics online for your enjoyment... but don't forget that a couple of purchases will encourage me to continue.
I (try) and make a living from photography and something has to pay for the beer (oh, and my missus expects food on the table too)!

Another box has been ticked with todays update completing the Gallery of pictures featuring Bands that played on the main stage at Jersey Live 2008. There is also a Gallery featuring some of the crowd and an Elevated Photo Gallery with pictures taken from my 26 Metre Photo Mast.
The new Bands featured are The Courteeners, Foals, Black Kids, Goose, The Music & The Go! Team. Incidentally, The Go! Team are due to play at the new Guernsey Festival of Performing Arts this Summer.

A very popular choice with my customers is a 'custom designed' Photo Montage. Each one is individually created with a choice of your favourite pics. It's best not to choose too many - five works really well - and I will e-mail a low resolution sample to you for approval before producing the final print.
An A2 print (sized approx 22" x 16") cost £55. You can also choose to have the montage supplied on a Canvas. A 24" x 16" Canvas is £80 with the largest 30" x 20" at £120.

I have just completed an Elevated photoshoot of the Guernsey Housing Associations re-developmnent of new homes at the Bouet, Guernsey.
Great effort has been made to recyle as much of the material from the demolition of the old properties as possible. Paul Rouget Plant Hire have been using a variety of heavy plant to achieve the maximum result.
This Gallery displays Elevated views of the whole site.

I didn't think how much time it would take to bring my archive of pictures over to this new web site but the task continues!
I have collected a huge number of pictures of Bands playing many venues in the Channel Islands. Today there has been a big update to the Jersey Live Gallery.
Featured Bands include: Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal, Passion Pit, The Whip, Frank Turner, Golden Silvers, The Antlers, Brave Yesterday, The Dirty Aces, The Valentines, The Kooks, Doves, Jack Penate, The Temper Trap, The Boxer Rebellion, Fight Like Apes, Black Stats, Marvel, Kap Bambino, Chew Lips, The Antlers, Gable, Emily Loizeau & Oneofakind.
That's twenty-four new Galleries.... phew!
JERSEY LIVE 2009

Jersey Live in 2010 presented six Stages of entertainment for the two days. That allowed a huge choice of Bands to perform. I left the Festival completely 'wacked' having photographed twenty-seven of those Bands!
I have just completed the updates by bring those pictures over from my old web site. The last of these updates include pictures of: The Centeniers, The Hype, The Magic Numbers, The View, Tinie Tempah, We are Enfant Terrible & We Have Band.

Karen Solway's 'Things to do Guernsey' promoted The Snooker Legends Tour at Beau Sejour in front of a sell-out crowd last Saturday.
The Tour consisted of players Jimmy White, Dennis Taylor, John Parrott and Cliff Thorburn with John Virgo as commentator/host.
A relaxed and informal evening of entertainment showcased the talented ex-World Champions and top-ranking players with plenty of humour and crowd participation. Main sponsors of the event were Rihoy & Son and Slattery Decor.

Whilst in the Island, Jimmy White also played a private exhibition match against the Guernsey Snooker team for a local business family. Pictures of this Event have been added to a password protected Gallery.

I have continued with the development of this new Web Site by making improvements to the 'PRICES & OPTIONS' page.
It now has several illustrations to help you understand the various options that can be supplied.

The updates today include more modifications to the 'Structure' of the Web Site with additional information being added to various pages including my 'About' page, the 'Prices & Options' page and the 'Special Orders' page.
I have also started work on a page which lists some of the CLIENTS that I have produced photographic work for.

There hasn't been a lot to show for a full days work but I have been modifying various aspects of the 'framework' of this new web site. The Shopping Cart & Options have all had tweaks. Not much looks different but the updates will allow a bit more flexibility in the future.
My aim remains the same - to greatly improve on the navigation, searhing and shopping experience compared to the old web site.
A new SEARCH facility has been added to the site. It allows quick searches to be made. Type a word in the box and see what you get! IT ISN'T PERFECT though and will only search by picture names or the picture information that I have added, but it can be fun!

Remember to update your links/bookmarks to point to this new web site as all new updates are being made here. I will also bring many of the Gallery Archives over to this site... eventually.

With the ever increasing size of the Picture Galleries (they already hold over 13,000 images) I have added another new feature that you might find useful.

You can now search the whole Web Site using the SEARCH PAGE. Use this to narrow down the selection of pictures to those that are of interest to you. The search uses the picture title and any information that I have added. It will quickly select the pictures that match your request... However this facility is not perfect or guaranteed to find every relevant picture, sorry!

You can always use a 'manual' search. This should also enable you to find pictures that interest you very quickly. If you spend a few moments clicking through the various Galleries you should soon understand the layout and logic behind the Gallery structure.

THE OLD MILLPOND PHOTOGRAPHICS WEB SITE

I specialise in high resolution, wide angle stitched panoramic pictures.
This is a form of production that uses a number of separate photographs which are then seamlessly joined to produce a picture that can be printed 60" wide or more. The detail that can be seen is amazing!
When a panorama is made from pictures taken at 26 metres high you end up with a view that has never been seen before.
I have added some new panoramas to the Galleries. Unfortunately it is impossible to see how much impact these panoramas have when looking at web sized pics, however I hope you get a 'feel' for the views.

OK, so now the excuses! Christmas, in one word! I have to thank all you guys and girls for all the orders of Prints, Montages, Digital Files and Canvases. The preparation and production of these orders has taken a great deal of time... I know, I spend too much optimising each print!

There is another excuse as well! I currently have a 'broken' main PC. Windows 7 has thrown a huge tantrum and refuses to boot up after crashing. I have spent several days trying to rebuild Win7 using DOS as the built-in restore didn't work. I am now resigned to a reinstallation with all the activation problems with Photoshop and all my other programs... there is no shortcut.
If I can offer one bit of advice - thankfully I take my own advice - BACKUP YOUR FILES - I have backups of backups of backups...
UPDATE: It looks like I have the Computer fully restored from backups. What a HUGE hassle but I don't think I have lost a thing!! Pictures, e-mails, programs, settings, the lot have all been restored from back-ups

I have updated the Tallpictures Galleries with more of my Commercial work. Much of this work is completed using my Elevated Photography Masts. The main mast is deployed from a custom made Studio van. It extends to 26 metres and provides a true 'birds-eye' point of view. I also have a 17 metre remote set-up mast which provides coverage in the areas where a vehicle cannot go.

I have added a little more content to the TALLPICTURES Gallery. I am now showing a wider selection of Stitched Panoramas. This area of my business is very popular and something I specialise in. Many of the pictures have been produced using seven or eight individual pics taken from the Elevated mast. The final result is very high resolution and will print in a large format. I have sold many sized up to 72 inch wide! They look spectacular. Several of the scenic views will feature in Rob Batiste's new book titled 'COAST'. Take a look at the Galleries CLICK HERE

All the old picture archive is still shown there. Over the next weeks I will bring much of the archive across to this site so it can benefit from easier navigation, bigger pics and online sales. Until then you can click on the link to go staight there. You are still able to order any pics by taking a note of the number which is revealed when you press INFO.

As the development of this new site continues may I thank all of you who have taken the time to comment and make suggestions. With all your help, I hope that a straightforward and clear browsing experience will be on offer. The real test will be when a lot more content is added as it is always a challenge to be have a web site with a large amount content that only takes a few 'clicks' to find what the visitor is looking for. We like a challenge, don't we!

I have been 'tweaking' the formatting of the site and have added various new sections with information. It is still very much a 'work in progress' but it now has the core structure in place.
I intend to make all future Gallery updates to this site but the old one will remain in place for some time as it contains an archive of well over 20,000 pictures! This number shocked me when I realised.
