The Power Boat Racing Galleries have been updated...
14th February 2011

I have it on very good authority that Power Boat Racing in Guernsey is going to have one of its busiest years for a long time in 2011! Last year saw Power Boating take off again with a Championship organised through the summer months.
It seems this was enough to generate more interest and the local club is intending to continue to develop the sport in Guernsey. There is also a strong chance of bringing over some of the big Off-shore racers which would provide a terrific spectacle. Fingers crossed!
With this renewal of interest I have updated the Galleries with some pics from my archives.

GMC&CC Trials Bike Gallery updates...
11th February 2011

The Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Club organise Trials Bike meetings every year... shame it is a winter sport, it can get a bit wet and windy as one of the Galleries shows! I am continuing with the web site updates and have added several new Galleries from my picture archives.
You can now view pictures from 2009, 2010 and 2011 including the 2-Day Trials meetings and the Demonstration of Trials riding which entertained the crowds at the 2009 West Show.

New pictures added to Sugar Slam Gallery & Autocross Gallery...
09th February 2011

That's it! I have photographed eight events during the last weekend and all the Galleries have now been updated. The last two additions can be viewed by following these links.
First are the new pics of Sugar Slam playing at The Fermain Tavern. This was a great gig...

GMC&CC Trials meeting at 'Lances'...
08th February 2011

Its been a busy weekend... and I have a load of pics to prepare for uploading to the Galleries! Already added are two Snooker Galleries - one featuring 'The Snooker Legends Tour', the other shows Jimmy White playing a private exhibition match.
The latest Gallery is for the GMC&CC Trials meeting at 'Lances'. This time I was able to get along for the Juniors. To view the pictures follow this link VIEW TRIALS MEETING AT LANCES.
The weekends Motor Sport 'photoging' also included Motocross, Karting & the Autocross Banger racing. All this was 'topped-off' with the Sugar Slam gig at the Tavern... pics will follow!
Pictures of the GK&MC Winter Kart Championship & Moto-X Racing now on-line...
07th February 2011

I have ticked another two of the weekends events off the list. A Gallery of new Karting pictures has been added. The Kart & Motor Club held Round-2 of the Winter Championship at The Track in fresh but dry conditions.
VIEW ROUND-2 OF THE KART CHAMPIONSHIP
Next is a new Gallery for the latest Moto-X racing at Rue de la Trigale. The track and weather conditions were just about perfect for racing... a bit dull for photographers but 'you can't please all the people all the time' can you?

'Things to do Guernsey' promote 'The Snooker Legends Tour'...
06th February 2011

Karen Solway's 'Things to do Guernsey' promoted The Snooker Legends Tour at Beau Sejour in front of a sell-out crowd last Saturday.
The Tour consisted of players Jimmy White, Dennis Taylor, John Parrott and Cliff Thorburn with John Virgo as commentator/host.
A relaxed and informal evening of entertainment showcased the talented ex-World Champions and top-ranking players with plenty of humour and crowd participation. Main sponsors of the event were Rihoy & Son and Slattery Decor.

Whilst in the Island, Jimmy White also played a private exhibition match against the Guernsey Snooker team for a local business family. Pictures of this Event have been added to a password protected Gallery.

Sand Racing pics from Vazon Beach...
04th February 2011

One of the Motor Sport highlights each year in Guernsey is the Condor Ferries Sand Ace Championship held on Vazon Beach. There is always good support from some of the top UK, maybe even European riders who enjoy racing on the beach for a change.
To have the chance to 'get up close' to a full heat of 'sliders' is really exciting when you remember that these guys have no brakes!
As an MSA Accredited photographer I take advantage of the special access and try to capture the action from close quarters.
My absolute favourite of the visitors is Mitch Godden who is a multiple winner of the Championship. Mitch is also a good customer - he seems to like the pics I take... must be all that sun and sand!
Taking good action pics is made a lot easier when I have such a stylish rider lined up.
Mitch rides bike number 29. You wont miss him in the Galleries!

Gay Army are on the march!
03rd February 2011

I have just updated the Galleries to include the pics that I have taken of Gay Army. This Band remains one of my favourite local groups.
They are certainly a Band for the 'big occasion' and have played many of the Channel Islands biggest Festivals including Jersey & Guernsey Live, The Vale Earth Fairs & The Greenman Chaos Festivals. Take a look at the Galleries by clicking on the link... you will find further links to the other Festivals.

King Rat & the Soul Cats gallery updates...
02nd February 2011

As expected, it is taking quite some time! But I am continuing to bring more pictures across from the old web site. Today it has been another update to the Bands Gallery. I have added pictures of a Band that probably had the biggest fan base of any Guernsey Band before they disbanded. However, like so many of the 'old timers', they have reformed in the last few years for a few nostalgic gigs. There is no shortage of 'fans' to support King Rat & the Soul Cats whenever they play. I have have added a Gallery of pics of one of these gigs

Paul Jones & Dave Kelly play at The Fermain Tavern...
01st February 2011

The Fermain Tavern continued 2011 with another big named act following Eddie and the Hot Rods. Paul Jones & Dave Kelley were the latest visitors to take to the stage. Paul Jones has a much more laid back style than Eddie, in fact the Blues pairing performed whilst seated!
However this suited their set perfectly with the Blues songs interspersed with stories. The refurbished Fermain Tavern proved again that the new layout works really well... can't wait for the next gig. Take a look at the new pictures here.

Alderney Hill Climb pics added to the Galleries...
31st January 2011

The Alderney weekend remains one of the highlights of the Channel Islands Motor Sport scene. A lot of racing is packed into the two days for those competitors who choose to 'travel' with the Sprint at Fort Corblets on the Friday followed by the Hill Climb at Fort Tourgis on Saturday.
But there is more to the weekend than that! Alderney always comes up trumps when it comes to the social side too. Karaoke at The Campania anyone?
2011 promises a special treat with an extra day of racing added, for those who have the stamina!
I have now added to the Archive with a new Gallery of pictures of the Hill Climb at Fort Tourgis.

Music Gallery updates...
29th January 2011

Whenever I can find a couple of hours I continue with the updating of this new web site by bringing the Archive of pics over from the old site. Today there have been additions to the Gigs & Bands Gallery with Dial F for Frankenstein, Dizzee Rascal, Django Django & Eddie Martin all having new picture Galleries. Take a look here NEW BAND PICS
Pictures of The Nelkons supporting Eddie and the Hot Rods...
26th January 2011

Established Guernsey Band, The Nelkons, can now add 'supported Eddie and the Hot Rods' to their CV!
The band were lucky enough to be asked to support Eddie and the Hot Rods, along with The Risk, when they played at the new Fermain Tavern. These two great local bands did a great job and played their part in what was a fantastic night.
I have now added new pictures of The Nelkons to the Galleries

GMCCC Bike Trials Championship... New Galleries...
25th January 2011

A new picture gallery has been added for the 23rd January round of the Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Clubs Bike Trials Championship.
There was a shortage of Expert riders but this was offset by a healthy amount of competitors in the Clubmans, Novice and Vetrans Classes. It was a dry day and quite mild... if you were lucky to be watching one of the 'inland' sections. It was definately not a day to be down on the beach where the breeze was biting!

Some more improvements as this Web Site continues to develop
24th January 2011

It now has several illustrations to help you understand the various options that can be supplied.
Please take a look here NEW PRICES & OPTIONS PAGE

I can also produce alternative designs & sizes if requested.

Eddie and the Hot Rods... what a fantastic gig
23rd January 2011

We are so lucky on this little 'rock'! The local music scene continues to produce a stream of new bands which join our established acts to keep the whole thing alive and healthy.
Then we have people who are prepared to support the 'scene'. There is no better example at the moment than Chris Staples at the Fermain Tavern. The venue has just had a fantastic 'make-over' and now represents a facility that lives up to its musical history.
And a new chapter was written on Saturday when Eddie and the Hots Rods played (again)!
As support, the Island did us proud in the form of The Risk and The Nelkons. I have added a new Gallery for Eddie and the Hot Rods... take a look. You should of been there.

Pictures of the Hogwash have been added to the Galleries...
22nd January 2011

The latest updates include additions to the Archive Galleries.
Each year I photograph many events and aspects of life on Guernsey and have a huge archive of pictures that show how 'us Guernsey Donkeys' go about the task of entertaining ourselves and others.
One Event that always entertains is the Hogwash. I have added a Gallery which shows some of the action from 2009 including Tractor Mower Racing, a Moto-X Display, Burn-outs and Bands.
There will be many more Galleries to follow featuring many other Events. Keep a regular check on this Web Site as it is updated most days.

Various updates to the 'structure' and information including a new Clients Page...
21st January 2011

The updates today include more modifications to the 'Structure' of the Web Site with additional information being added to various pages including my 'About' page, the 'Prices & Options' page and the 'Special Orders' page.
I have also started work on a page which lists some of the CLIENTS that I have produced photographic work for.

Jack Change play at the Battle of the Bands...
20th January 2011

A Gallery has been added to feature the recent performance of the young Guernsey Band Jack Change in one of the heats of Battle of the Bands. With £1000 to be won by the Band that impresses the Judges most there has been no shortage of contenders. Jack Change won this round that was held at The Thomas de la Rue and qualified for the Final.
However, the prestigious win (and the cash!) in the Grand Final went to a fairly new but talented band called Tantale. A result that I agee with.

'Behind the scenes' updates today...
19th January 2011

There hasn't been a lot to show for a full days work but I have been modifying various aspects of the 'framework' of this new web site. The Shopping Cart & Options have all had tweaks. Not much looks different but the updates will allow a bit more flexibility in the future.
My aim remains the same - to greatly improve on the navigation, searhing and shopping experience compared to the old web site.
A new SEARCH facility has been added to the site. It allows quick searches to be made. Type a word in the box and see what you get! IT ISN'T PERFECT though and will only search by picture names or the picture information that I have added, but it can be fun!
TRY THE NEW SEARCH FEATURE
Remember to update your links/bookmarks to point to this new web site as all new updates are being made here. I will also bring many of the Gallery Archives over to this site... eventually.
