Sorted! The last of the ROCK of AGES-7 picture galleries are now online...
13th January 2011
The updating of fourteen galleries featuring the bands that played at Rock of Ages-7 is complete. The final bands to be added include one of my favourites on the Guernsey scene - Last of the Light Brigade. This band played on two stages at Jersey Live 2010. The Main Stage and again on the more intimate Wild West Tease Stage. They just get better every time I see them. JERSEY LIVE 2010
Another of the Galleries features Anders' Riddle who really suprised me at RoA-7. They are so young - but play classics from the record collection of this 55 year old photographer - and really well! They must have raided their parents (or Grandparents!) record collection for inspiration.
The final two bands are Dealer's Left & Breaking the Silence.
That was some marathon update! Hope you like the pics.
Please e-mail me with your comments ... and don't forget you can buy prints and digital files. All pics are copyrighted and are NOT FREE for you to copy. Digital files just cost 'beer money'! Click 'BUY NOW' below each picture to add it to your shopping basket.
Please support your local photog. Cheers.

More Bands added to the Rock of Ages-7 picture Gallery...
11th January 2011
Rock of Ages-7 has set-up the live music scene in Guernsey for 2011.
Mark Guillou is not afraid of the amount of work that goes into putting on Rock of Ages - two nights of live music with great sound and lighting... an event that showcased FOURTEEN acts! If you are a 'Friend of Rock of Ages' you got ten hours of live music for £8, unbelievable!
I enjoyed seeing seven new acts, mostly young musicians, and was well impressed with them all. The Guernsey live music scene is alive and kicking.
I have now added the following Bands to the Gallery - Wax Off, Dead Wing & Fate. Check-out the pictures here ROCK OF AGES-7

2011 has started with two nights of live Music featuring FOURTEEN Bands!
09th January 2011
Only Mark Guillou could come up with such a huge task... and pull it off to near perfection! Rock of Ages-7 has set the standard for 2011 and it will take some beating.
OK, I'm still on the 'high' having enjoyed about ten hours of live music & FOURTEEN great bands playing at Rock of Ages-7. The size of this event is ambitious to say the least - particularly as Mark has such a small 'band' of willing helpers. But it was a fantastic showcase with a great mix of Bands.
Mark is the biggest supporter of new young bands and had seven in the line-up that I hadn't seen before. They were all well worth the chance of playing on a stage that spoilt them with quality sound and superb lighting. The 'pub' gigs that will undoubtably be in the future for many of these young Bands will never reach the heights of such a great set-up!
I could go on... but I have FOURTEEN Bands to add to the Galleries.
The first updates are for Urban Wendy, She Haunts the Road, Brutus Stonefist, United Snakes & Feedback. Take a look here ROCK OF AGES-7

05th January 2011
There are always plenty of thrills & spills on Chouet beach in Guernsey when the Autocross Club turn up! This is definitaley the best entertainment per £ to be had in local Motor Sport. The racing has a loyal band of followers who simply put on a few more layers to keep out the biting winter breeze as they follow there favourite drivers. I have added hundreds of pictures featuring the 2010 season to the Gallery. Follow this link to view them THE LATEST AUTOCROSS UPDATES

Major updates to the Motocross Galleries...
04th January 2011
Today it is the turn of the Motocross Galleries. Surely the Guys (and a few Gals!) who race the Motocross classes must qualify as some of the maddest in motor sport. With an ambulance always at the ready they go about their sport! I'm not complaining - I get some great action shots!

New Stitched Panoramas have been added to the TALLPICTURES Galleries...
03rd January 2011
I specialise in high resolution, wide angle stitched panoramic pictures.
This is a form of production that uses a number of separate photographs which are then seamlessly joined to produce a picture that can be printed 60" wide or more. The detail that can be seen is amazing!
When a panorama is made from pictures taken at 26 metres high you end up with a view that has never been seen before.
I have added some new panoramas to the Galleries. Unfortunately it is impossible to see how much impact these panoramas have when looking at web sized pics, however I hope you get a 'feel' for the views.
I have large scale sample prints that can be viewed by contacting me on 07781 144525 or by e-mail E-mail Andrew Le Poidevin where I will arrange to meet you and quote prices for any size to suit.
Many of my Panoramic Montages have been reproduced in the book written by Rob Batiste titled 'Guernseys Coast'.

Rock of Ages Gallery updates...
27th December 2010
.
With Rock of Ages-7 just around the corner I thought I would move a few more picture Galleries over to this new web site. Mark Guillou puts on a fantastic show (literally when it comes to the lighting!) for his Rock of Ages gigs. Mark has given many Guernsey bands their 'first break' and sets a standard for all others to follow with great sound and lighting.
I have updated the Gallery for Rock of Ages-1. Take a look here ROCK OF AGES-1.
Picture Gallery updates have been made for Teaspoonriverneck, Stratosphere, Pete Frampton & Friends, Brutus Stonefist, Elysium and Wasted on the Way.

The Risk play a storming gig at The Fermain Tavern...
19th December 2010
On a Saturday night just before the Christmas weekend, Guernsey will always offer plenty of choice if 'your thing' is Live Music. So you paid your money and made your choice! My view was that there was only one place to be... The Fermain Tavern. The Risk made one of their all too rare appearances and they were massive! 6 Day Riot pictures from Folkal Point at the Fermain Tavern...
18th December 2010
Just a few updates today. I have added a new Gallery displaying pictures of the London based Folk-Pop Quintet 6 Day Riot. These pics were taken at The Fermain Tavern during a recent Folkal Point evening held to raise funds for next years Sark Folk Festival. I really enjoyed this band... although I nearly missed them completely! Don't the 'folk music' guys finish early. All done by 10.45pm! Check-out the Gallery here 6 DAY RIOT AT THE FERMAIN TAVERN

New Gallery Updates...
16th December 2010
I'm back on target! After losing a couple of days to restoring my main work computer I am now back on track with the updates - thank goodness for backups. Make this your New Years Resolution.
Thank you for all the orders. I have completed quite a number of new Montages but they will have to wait until the New Year before they are added to the Galleries. I don't want to spoil any suprises!
Todays Gallery is one I missed earlier in the year and displays the August 30th Hill Climb.
You can view it here AUGUST 30th HILL CLIMB.
Oh, and by the way, BACKUP YOUR COMPUTER. Now I know why I am so paranoid about backing up! I make regular, multiple copies and am pleased to say that nothing has been lost.
However, can I put it on record that I officially HATE COMPUTERS and WINDOWS 7 has to take some blame too, I guess.

OK, so now the excuses! Christmas, in one word! I have to thank all you guys and girls for all the orders of Prints, Montages, Digital Files and Canvases. The preparation and production of these orders has taken a great deal of time... I know, I spend too much optimising each print!
TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF THE NEW MONTAGES
There is another excuse as well! I currently have a 'broken' main PC. Windows 7 has thrown a huge tantrum and refuses to boot up after crashing. I have spent several days trying to rebuild Win7 using DOS as the built-in restore didn't work. I am now resigned to a reinstallation with all the activation problems with Photoshop and all my other programs... there is no shortcut.
If I can offer one bit of advice - thankfully I take my own advice - BACKUP YOUR FILES - I have backups of backups of backups...
UPDATE: It looks like I have the Computer fully restored from backups. What a HUGE hassle but I don't think I have lost a thing!! Pictures, e-mails, programs, settings, the lot have all been restored from back-ups

Additions to the Tallpictures Commercial Galleries...
02nd December 2010
I have updated the Tallpictures Galleries with more of my Commercial work. Much of this work is completed using my Elevated Photography Masts. The main mast is deployed from a custom made Studio van. It extends to 26 metres and provides a true 'birds-eye' point of view. I also have a 17 metre remote set-up mast which provides coverage in the areas where a vehicle cannot go.
Many different uses can be found for Elevated Photography and they include Property Sales, Roof & Land surveys, Commercial Buildings, Construction Sites, Events & Special Occasions, Advertising & Promotional work. New Galleries can be viewed here LATEST UPDATES TO TALLPICTURES

Lots of action uploads today...
01st December 2010
Today adds some action (read crashes) to the Motor Sport Gallery. Over the years of photographing Motor Sport I suppose it was inevitable that I would capture a few accidents!
I'm pleased to say that the competitors ego was the only thing damaged in these mishaps. I think that when you watch and photograph Motor Sport as much as I do you begin to develop 'an extra sense' for where and when the action will occur... certainly some of the more spectacular sequences that are shown here were anticipated!
Please take a look at the new Galleries. They contain hundreds of crash pictures CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE NEW CRASHES GALLERY
