Floodlit photography becomes a little easier....
05th September 2025

With the new FNB Priaulx League season starting I made the first of many visits to Blanche Pierre Lane to photograph the game between St Martins and Rangers.

This ground used to be a near impossible challenge to photograph under floodlights. But I'm pleased to say the since the upgrade of the lighting there is at least a chance to capture a few decent shots.

I've added a gallery of my photos of my nights work. Click the link to view:

What a difference a sunny day makes.....
01st September 2025

What a difference a (sunny) day makes!

After the dull and windy first day of the GK&MC Motocross meeting the edit of Day 2 was a much brighter affair! A blue sky and colours that stand out give the second days edit a completely different look.

The upload of Day 2 photos bring the total to over 500.... hopefully I didn't miss anyone!!!

Here are the links to the two days Galleries:

The Green Lionesses find the back of the net SEVEN times.....
31st August 2025

After scoring seven goals in their first appearance in the Southern Region Woman's League the GFC Women's Green Lionesses should be very happy. This has to go down as a fantastic start to their season.

If they can maintain that level of goal scoring they are on the road to glory.

But the whole picture sees a score line of 7-5 revealing the Lionesses vulnerability at the back. When you factor in that six of the Lionesses goals were scored by one player, Calleigh Hedley, there is clearly some work to do. Wimborne Town showed that there are going to be some hard games ahead.

However this was just the start the side needed and we can now all look ahead to the next game... and loads more goals too!

I've added a gallery of my photos. Click the link to view them:

The last 'Terres hillclimb of this sunny and dry season.....
29th August 2025

A quick update to give you a link to the latest Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Club Hillclimb at the 'Terres.

This was the last one of the season and it continued the dry and sunny theme. What a difference to last years season. See you guys next year for more of the same.

The Lawm Mower racing dust was Saharan.......
28th August 2025

We are sometimes told that the dusty haze we see in the air and our splendid sunsets are a result of sand storms in the Sahara desert.

Well, I think I might have found another candidate. If we find a layer of light dust on our cars and if this occurs on the Sark Lawn Mower Racing weekend then it is clearly not just a coincidence!

On Saturday I popped over to Sark for the four hour Lawn Mower race event and I definitely needed a shower after completing my shoot. The dust clouds were 'Saharan' as the mowers powered around and around.

But the shower just had to wait as, firstly, I had important business to do in a few of the local Public Houses!

I had worked out that if I drank enough pints at the low Sark prices the money that I would save would cover my ferry costs.... thus making the visit over a free one!

Well the logic works for me, eh!!

I've uploaded a massive gallery featuring lots of the action. Click the link to view the photos:

St Martins get greedy for the silverware....
27th August 2025

This year it seems to me that the 2024 Guernsey Football Association season was only just finished when football was back in action again.

There have been various Cups to play for and whilst still early I think the money has to be on St Martins to pick up the majority of the silverware!

Taking home three out of three of the traditional curtain-raiser Cups must surely have set them up as the seasons favourites?

But can they keep form through to the end? Time will tell.

For now they've added another Cup to the trophy cabinet after beating North at Victoria Park in the Martinez Cup Final.

I've added a new gallery of my photos here:

Triathletes always manage to smile through the pain.....
26th August 2025

What a great way to spend an early summer's morning in Guernsey..... and I hasten to say that I was spectating.... not taking part! No chance of that, eh!!

I was down at Pembroke Bay to photograph the 2025 Inter-insular Triathlon between Guernsey and Jersey.

There was a good sized entry with a choice of distances allowing athletes to compete at a level that they felt comfortable. I know I've said it before but I'm always surprised how many smiles competitors manage for the camera whilst they push through the pain barrier!

Well done to everyone who took part.

The gallery of my photos is now online here:

Track Attack was torture on the track.....
25th August 2025

This was a new one for me. I'd not seen anything quite so brutal as the Track Attack event before.

I was at Footes Lane for the Storm Force Fitness (Guernsey) Tornado Fitness Racing event.

I only had a short time to photograph the various disciplines before I had to leave. But after capturing a few quick pics I was left wondering why anyone would volunteer to put their body and mind through such a torturous event?

Answers on a postcard please.......

From vintage to today.... VEF is always memorable!
22nd August 2025

Photos of the Channel Islands longest running Music Festival are now online.

The Vale Earth Fair consistently presents a great line-up of bands. The Castle Stage headliners for 2025 were the Dub Pistols with strong support from Big Special and The Lovely Eggs with Meryl Streek headlining the Next UP Stage.

But the line-ups always feature many of the Channel Islands best and favourite bands and for 2025 we saw The Risk, Buffalo Huddleston, Apothis, Ukuladeez, Dodgy Jammers and many more.

Central ethos of the VEF organisers is how they support good causes with consideration give to their impact on the planet. In fact they were well ahead of the times as this has been part of their beliefs going back nearly five decades!

The final Chaos Festival went out with style and smoke.....
21st August 2025

With the 2025 Vale Earth Fair just around the corner I thought I should make one last effort to finish and update the Chaos 20-25 Festival photo gallery.

I'm sure I will have another mega edit awaiting me after the VEF but that will have to wait until my VEF Real Ale induced headache has eased!

For now you can view photos of the legendary (and last) Chaos Festival by clicking this link:

All downhill at Petit Bot.....
17th August 2025

First stop on Sunday morning was Petit Bot valley for Round 5 of the GVC Gravity Series. This championship is proving to be really competitive with just seconds separating the top riders.

I had to complete the shoot early due to other jobs but I did capture some of the action. Click the link if you are interested:

Tyres squealing and engines revving are irresistible.....
14th August 2025

The Motorsport Seafront Sunday has proven to be perhaps the most popular event of the summer series. Maybe it's the attraction of engines revving or the squealing of tyres that draws the crowd?

I've just added a small gallery featuring some of the 2025 Twisty Sprint action:

It's party time in Herm for scooter riders....
11th August 2025

If there was any doubt that the Guernsey Scooter Club knew how to party that idea soon disappeared in Herm when The Devotees played at the end of the Scooter Rally week! The Mermaid Tavern was packed and loud!

So was the Herm ferry on the return sailing. What a night!

The Devotees were great and I've added a few photos to a new gallery:

Summertime is the time for Summer Schools.....
30th July 2025

It's the season when the School of Popular Music Guernsey and the School of Popular Music Jersey organise their Summer Schools.

The students are promised a full and varied week. The aim is to work towards a final night of performances where the newly created bands can showcase the work that they have done during the week.

I've just photographed the Jersey SoPM Summer Gig and I've added a gallery of photos of the performances:

Summertime Sandracing on the beach.....
29th July 2025

Spending another summer on the beach.... the way a Motorsport lover does it!

Vazon bay offers one of the biggest expanses of beautiful white Guernsey sand so it is the obvious place to go racing!

May I introduce to you the Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Club's Summer Sandracing Championship.

I was recently down on the beach photographing the action and the latest photos can now be viewed in a new Gallery. Click the link if you are interested:

What a Gem of a Jersey music festival......
28th July 2025

I've just discovered one of the most enjoyable Music Festivals and its future is uncertain!

This is a great shame as the landlords of the L'Auberge Du Nord on Jersey are just leaving the tenancy!

But let's not worry about that right now. I'm still so excited that I was able to get along to Bergefest 3 as the all-day event hosted an amazing line-up of acts. Three were from the UK and Karma Sheen, Waco and Dungeön were great new finds for me.

I wasn't totally distracted by the music and I did photograph all the bands.... lucky me as I can now look at my photos to remember this great festival....

I think I lost count and went a bit over the top!
22nd July 2025

I don't think I was keeping an eye on quite how many photos I was editing of the Guernsey Rounds of the British National Hillclimb Championships at Les Val des Terres as I got a bit carried away!

I've only finished the Cars gallery so far but that Gallery already displays hundreds of photos!

Now I'm on the job to complete the Bike shots and they will follow.

But for now just click the link to view all the four wheeled action:

They really didn't stop chattering an encouraging....
21st July 2025

That's the final 2025 Guernsey Velo Club Tour of Guernsey box ticked.... job done!

Round 6 didn't let up on the endurance front with riders facing an energy sapping Long Course Cross Country at Pleinmont.

I've really enjoyed photographing the week long event with perhaps the best part being track-side near to the youngest Club members who really didn't stop chattering and encouraging their seniors every time they passed!

.....best phases have to be 'go on, send it' or 'come on, this isn't slow-mo'

Love 'em!

Tired legs have just one more event before resting....
19th July 2025

Keeping to the script the Guernsey Velo Club's 2025 Tour of Guernsey offered another format of racing for Round 5.

The evening's competition was in the form of a Time Trial with a novelty finish in the darkness of the German Underground Hospital.

With just one more event to go on Sunday I reckon that Saturday's rest day will be very welcome!

My photos of Round 5 can be viewed by clicking the link below.
